What is Active Afternoons?
Our specialty: after-school and after-work sessions (usually 3–6pm) where a support worker who works like a mentor gets your teen or adult off the screen and out the door — walks, gym, sport, swimming, the skate park, fishing, or just time out in the community. Every session works towards NDIS goals like physical health, confidence, routine and independence — and it’s the same familiar face every week.
Do you work with teenagers?
Yes — teens and adults are our focus. All our workers hold NDIS Worker Screening Checks, and we hold Working With Children Checks for supporting under-18s. Parents are always in the loop: we start with a free meet & greet so your young person can decide if the fit feels right, and there are no lock-in contracts.
Can NDIS funding pay for fitness and community activities?
In most plans, yes — this support is typically funded under Social & Community Participation (Core) or Capacity Building, because the sessions work towards plan goals: health and wellbeing, social connection and independence. We support plan-managed and self-managed participants and charge at NDIS price-guide rates. Gym entry or activity costs are the participant’s own — and we keep them low, because parks, beaches and trails are free.
